Too Funny!

I am addicted to the Kardashians, lol. So of course I've been hooked on Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. Last night's episode was too funny. If you follow any of their reality shows or have seen Kim speak in any interviews, you will know that she has mentioned plenty of times that she doesn't drink. Respected...but on last night's episode of K & K Kim feels like the bore of the party since she doesn't drink and decides that she's not gonna be the bore anymore...at least for the night.

This is Kim before she took her words into action. lol.

And...of course let the party begin. [lol]

R.I.P. DJ AM

I am truly at a loss for words. Highly respected and popular DJ and all around a great guy, real name Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM passed Friday evening apparently a result of a drug overdose. Now this hasn't been confirmed considering they are still going through toxicology testing after the first round of tests came back inconclusive but it is among high speculation as being the cause of death. According to AllHipHop.com:

"The popular disc jockey was discovered about 5:20 PM, according to TMZ.com Goldstein’s friends reportedly became concerned when none of them had heard from him in several days. One went to check on him, but didn’t get him after going straight to the apartment room. The police broke into the apartment after the unnamed friend called them. They found him unresponsive and determined that he was dead.

The last thing he said via his Twitter account was, “New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.”Almost a year ago in September 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina. Both men were badly burned and were the only ones that made it out alive
".

Such a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Shop Trendy ♥ Shop Friendly

Need Supply Co. is one of my favorite places to shop in Richmond, Virginia. While I like to go the mall to shop, I would much rather shop at boutiques and even thrift stores where you can find trendy items at price friendly points. I think you find the most innovative pieces at these types of places.
Need Supply Co. is one of those stores I just can't get enough of. Their merchandise refelcts my style and I always receive great service when I visit their shop. That's a big deal to me as much as the items they sell. Check out their website and see for yourself what they have to offer!

Love This Chick!

I've always been a fan of Amerie and felt she never has received the credibility nor attention she deserves. This chick is a great artist! She's got the voice, the look, and can make hits. But why is it that she's not treated with more relevance? I know she's got what it takes to be up there on the same status as some of the top artists we see all the time. I don't think you can really compare her to any other artist, she's got her own style and uniqueness and that's what I like I about her.

Here's her new video: Why R U- I LOVE this song! And the vid is HAWT!

And of course I never get tired of her first hit single: Why Don't We Fall In Love

TOP SHOP

A preview for Kate Moss's Top Shop Fall 2009 line has surfaced all over the net and I absolutely love her line already, so I wasn't surprised too much when I awed at the looks. Of course, if I had the funds I would be all over it, but I'll just have to find some more clutch friendly ways to imitate her looks. Imitation is the best form of flattery right?

For the Moment!

This is one of my favorite looks of the moment: a good pair of skinny jeans, with a girly top, tailored jacket and heels! You can't go wrong with this look, simple and chic.

Blake Lively looks great in a more nautical version of this look with a navy, double-breasted jacket. Loves it!

Would YOU Dare?

The Harem pant [also known as the Hammer pant, lol].

It seems that a lot of celebs have jumped on this new slouch look but it's no secret that not everyone can get away with the same things celebs can, and trends are definitely not an exception. I'm sure you all have seen this style more and more lately and it's gotten so many mixed opinions that even I had to think to myself "would I wear this ?". Would YOU wear this trend? How would you wear it?

Here are my thoughts on how to simplify and wear this look:

1. Wear fitted tops especially considering the pants are already loose and slouchy. It's all about balance and it's the safest way to go. You can challenge the look with a light silk top like Angie Harmon did with hers. The only difference is she still kept her shape and chicness by wearing a belt and tucking her blouse in, the same with Naomi Campbell.
*You can also wear a fitted jacket with them for a simple layered look.

2. Limit your accessories, otherwise you may look like Aladdin! [lol]

3. Wear with heels! Since the pants are pretty much shapeless everywhere but the hip, wearing a heel will accentuate and elongate your legs and create a more feminine look. I'm not against wearing a flat sandal [gladiator!] if you wear a shorter version of the pant.

Love this site!

This site is called LOOKBOOK.nu and it's basically a site where people all over can post their different styles through inspirational photos and such. Basically their own lookbooks fashioned by themselves. A lot of the ensembles have been styled by very recession friendly shops like Forever 21 and even thrift stores! Very inspiring! This is one of the collections I found to be very sweet and flirty by a girl named Carmen J.. Love it!

Get Excited!

More and more celebs are coming out with their own fashion lines, and normally I don't take them seriously, as many people don't. But recently there are a few stars that have proven me wrong. One of my favorite lines that I'm most excited about for Fall is Mary Kate and Ashley's couture line called The Row. They've also started a newer line from The Row called "Elizabeth and James" which is also pretty cool and exciting! Especially since they've launched menswear now!

Here's an interesting kind of "video lookbook" of their line from 2007. It's almost like an introduction to their brand. I get the concept, pretty cool, but I want to see more!

Who Rocked It Best?

One's edgy, one's Boho...both are style geniuses whom I adore. Funny thing is- the skirt is from Sienna Miller's own line called Twenty8Twelve. But who looks hawtter in it? RiRi or the designer herself?

A French with a Twist!

Ok, so I like Kim Kardashian...A LOT[haha]. I think she is both gorgeous and pretty stylish. I visit her and her sisters' blogs pretty frequently and I found one of Kim's latest entries pretty interesting about this new OPI nail polish she has been telling people about. Well it's a matte polish which has a different look in texture [rubber as she described, which i agree!] and she added clear polish to the tips creating an illusion of french tips but of course... in matte! I thought it was pretty cool. I might try it since i looovve black nail polish. I'm not a goth girl, but again, i love a little edge!

Who Rocked it Best?

Who do you think wore this chic Marchesa dress better??? Hillary or Miley?

Style Icon in the Making

Emma Watson, better known for her character as Hermione from the Harry Potter movies, is such a little stylista already! It's amazing how fast these little tween stars grow up but I've [and many others] been taking notice of her more and more with her not because of her acting skills but because of her fashion choices. This Parisian born beauty is already making marks in the world of fashion with each red carpet event. Of course it always helps when she's also gracing covers of magazines like Teen Vogue and being a spokesmodel for Burberry. This girl is going to be the next "It" girl, I know it! Not only does she have the style and beauty but the brains as well! She's planning to attend Ivy League school, Brown University, in the Fall. This girl's got a lot to look forward to and I can't wait to see what happens!

I always had a fondness for History...

Hawtness!

I absolutely adore these new LV shades! I need them in my life! And of course one of my favorite stylistas was spotted wearing them recently...no surprise there. These are definitely going on my "Slim's Style Wishlist". ;-)

Just the Jist of It!

A little brief rundown of Paris Fashion Week...one day I will be there. [and in the front row!] I love a good European inspiration. :)

Stella

Or should I say StellaR, because Stella McCartney's collections are always impeccable. I love her boyfriend inspired slouchy bottoms paired with novelty tops, usually made of lace and silk and tuxedo jackets polishing the look.
When I think of Stella McCartney I think of the Romanticism era intertwined with old Hollywood elegance. And there's nothing more classic than a shimmering silk draped gown or more flirty than a floral printed maxi, but it's not perfected unless it's done by Stella. Her clothes speak for themselves, and they speak so beautifully.

Guess Who's Bizzack...

...and it's about damn time! One of my ultimate style idols is finally out of hiatus from the biz and graces the Septemeber issue of InStyle magazine with her fierceness. I guess this will do for now, but I'm gonna need her to come back full force with a new album and movie! Is that asking too much???
